Finding Christ

Finding Christ

KNOWING REAL FORGIVENESS AND BEGINNING A NEW LIFE.

There are times we all come to the end of “ourselves” and begin the search for what life is about.

This is a question people have struggled with from the beginning of time.

John, one of Jesus’ apostles wrote in I John1:5-10, 5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

But how do you ask for forgiveness and accept Christ as Lord and Savior of your life?

First is to recognize that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and all means me and you.

Next, we need to know we need to start a new life spiritually. We can only be born once physically, but we can be born again spiritually and emotionally. John 3:3 reads,” Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.

So how does that happen? Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

If you are ready to place your trust in Jesus Christ and are willing to surrender your life to Him, pray a prayer like this one.

Dear Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you lived, died, and rose from the dead.

Please forgive me of my sins and may I also forgive those who have sinned against me. From this day on I promise to serve you, read your Word, the Bible and seek friendships with other believers. I now devote myself to you. Let the Holy Spirit come into my life and teach me your ways. In Jesus Name I ask. Amen!
