Finding Christ

Finding Christ

Knowing Forgiveness of sins and a new life.

There are times we all come to the end of “ourselves” and begin the search for what life is about.

This is a question that has haunted people from the beginning of time.

The human is a complex emotional, physical and spiritual creation. Nothing as complex as humans could happen by chance. It takes more faith to believe in the ‘big-bang’ theory than it does to believe that God took His time and carefully created everything for His enjoyment.

John, one of Jesus’ apostle wrote in 1John1:2-3, “The man Jesus appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.”

But how do you ask for forgiveness and accept Christ as Lord and Savior of your life?

First is to recognize that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) . And all means me and you.

Next we need to know we need to start a new life spiritually. We can only be born once physically, but we can be born again spiritually and emotionally. John 3:3 reads, ” Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. ‘”

So how does that happen? Read Romans 10:9-10: “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Pray a prayer like this one.

Dear Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you lived, died and rose from the dead. Please forgive me of my sins and may I also forgive those who have sinned against me. From this day on I promise to serve you, read your Word through the Bible and fellowship with other believers. I now commit myself to you. Let the Holy Spirit come into my life and teach me the truths you want me to learn. In Jesus Name I ask. Amen!
